Here's Hoping that a few of those tappers make it onto the show this season! AND ... if they do - they need a teacher/choreographer like you!!! I wonder how they find their choreographers and when they find you - you'll let us know, right?

You are too kind! My understanding is that to choreograph for the show you have to submit video of your choreography. I seriously doubt they will do a tap dance for choreography. We can always hope though.

So this is a little late but on topic...a few weeks back on the show they had all 3 tappers do a number together which I thought was a great idea. Unfortunately I think there were some micing problems because the tap sounds would go in and out at various parts of the routine. I have a feeling that is why they haven't had more tappers on in the past because it is hard for them to properly mic it.

It's also disappointing that they don't require the other contestants to learn tap choreography! Nigel said some baloney about not being able to teach the other dancers tap in a short amount of time. That show has had untrained hip hop dancers learning ballroom form scratch, there's no reason they couldn't tap. And if he's really worried about it then 1, make the dancers audition in tap to make it to the show and/or 2, give them a crash course in vegas. The dancers are strong enough that ven if their feet aren't that fast or complex they could make a tap number "look" good.
